高纯石墨的特性：纯度高、强度高、密度高。导热率高（8-12）W/mk（略低于铜材）、耐高温性能比其它物质都高，在2500℃高温下，抗压强度不但不降低，反而提高二倍。磨擦系数低（3.5-6.5）×10-6/℃、耐腐蚀性能好、耐酸耐碱、热膨胀系数低，耐热冲击性能好、电阻率低等良好的机械性能。
高纯石墨可加工各类石墨模、石墨质机械零件、石墨坩埚、石墨轴承、碳刷等。可用于冶金、化工、轻工、制药、纺织、石油、国防、航天等行业。
